I want to like these shoes. Most gore-tex trail shoes are too bulky and too stiff. These are not. There is the right amount of shoe around your foot and they feel like the have very good cushioning. I can't comment on arch support because I just got them and am only wearing them around my house (standard operating procedure for shoes I order online).
So why did I rate them so low? Because even though they are sized pretty accurately from a length and bulk perspective, they are just too narrow. I wear a 9-2E. This is my foot measurement on a New Balance sizer. Yet since the last year or so, I've noticed that NB 2E's no longer provide the space in the toe box they once did. The fact that this shoe is a 4E drives that point home even more! This is not a one shoe deal either, I also bought and tried on the MT910 in size 9-4E and guess what... same problem... too narrow! I'm not sure what's happening with NB and their widths... but even my latest NB running shoes MR759 are a tighter than my last pair or NB running shoes (but b/c they are flexible it's doable). NB... please correct this trend!
IF you're interested in this shoe, and wear a regular "D" ... do not hesitate to get the 4E. My left foot is a 9-D and fits perfectly in the shoe. -ST

Bought this shoe for it\'s look and percieved functionality. They look awesome! I used them for hiking in Alaska this summer and was not disappointed. I don\'t do any heavy duty gnarly stuff but they performed well on trails, splashing through creeks and the like. They do run SMALL! Normally wear 12 d or ee, went w/4e after reading many other reviews and suggestion from a store clerk. The width was just right but could probably have used a bit more length especially on occasions when feet swell slightly. Other wise great. If you are usually a 4e, this may not work for you, try on before purchase.
