I bought the 993 about two weeks ago and decided to give it a test run the very first day I got them. I bought a size 11 2EE, and after only thirty minutes of wearing it the left small toe started to hurt, needless to say that after coming home from a combined 8 mile run the left foot small toe was burning up and severely swollen. When I turned the shoe upside down to see how the bottom of the shoe held up I was shock to see how worn out it already looked after only using it for one day. This is by far the worse shoe I have ever bought from New Balance; very disappointed, definitely not worse the money for what it is intended for, unless you don't mind paying the high price for looks only.

I have very narrow feet and therefore have always worn the 99 series because they come in a men\'s 2A width. I have been insanely grateful that New Balance carries a running shoe in that width, and they always fit great. However, I just replaced my 992s with a pair of 993, 2A width, which I bought online. I was gravely disappointed to find that they are substantially roomier than all of the previous 99 versions and do not fit well at all. After two 5 mile runs to break them in I find that I am swimming in them. I don\'t know why New Balance decided to mess with perfection. but unless they go back to the old sizing, it will no longer be an automatic that I buy New Balance..
