I walk 5 miles a day, 360 days a year in the early mornings at a 4.5mi/hr pace. I've been doing this regimen for 12 years. I purchase new walking shoes every 6 months. I grade shoes based in part on whether they can last the 6 months or roughly 900 miles. I wanted to try a lighter weight walking shoe than the 927 and was swayed by the advertising that it had "top-notch support". This shoe at less than three months has already worn down through the first layer of material at the heel, which the 927 took 6 months to do. Also the support is not as good as the 927. I'm going to try the 946 next. Maybe the cross trainer will last better. I've purchased Nevados' and Merrills in the past, early in my walking regimen. But once they both got away from a single material soles, their durability degraded and the shoes began to squeak because of the bonding breaks between the materials in the sole. The 927's are good shoes, but they look like the diabetic shoes that they are designed to be. I wish I could get that support and durability in a better looking shoe.

I have been wearing NB walking shoes for several years. This shoe is at least 1/2 size small and they squeak.
