I love the 1012, it is one of my favorite running shoes. I've been wearing this series since its inception. I had the 1010 back in '08, and the 1011 in '10 (ran the Fargo Marathon in them) and I'm presently wearing the 1012 (I'll be running Rock n Roll Denver in them in 2 weeks). They fit my feet well, are very stable, well cushioned, and have a great road feel. The only downside is the outsole rubber in the heel wears down too quickly. Granted, because of my running style, my right shoe wears down faster than my left shoe, and has been like that for as long as I can remember. I've been wearing the 1012s for 3 weeks (rotating with 2 other pairs of running shoes) and the heel outsole on the right shoe is almost into the Abzorb foam. I love this series and would like to purchase again, but I would really like to see more durability in the heel outsole before I do. Maybe New Balance can tweak the Ndurance compound and make it a little tougher.

This is the fourth shoe I have tried in my pursuit of the perfect shoe for my PF. I started with the 1123. It helped, but was just plain hideous to look at. I then tried the 1226. It was good as well, but didn't last quite 300 miles. I then tried the 2002. Worst shoe ever made by humans. Crippled me. I then tried the 1012. Hands down, the most compfortable of them all. Little to no pain at all, and nowhere near as ugly as the 1123. I have since gone back to the 1226 since it is on sale as the 1260 is out now. After my 1226 I will have a hard choice between the 1260 and another 1012. The only two downsides to the 1012 are the color(need options) and the outsole didn't last very long(no tread at all after 300 miles).
