Sorry guys but this is probably the worst 1200 series you have developed. Compared to the previous 1200's, the 1226 is not worth it. I started using the 1223, then the 1224 and the 1225. This models never gave me problems, specially in my long runs. For me the best is the 1223 & 1224, I may call it the perfect running shoe for me. Following reasons why the 1226 is a failure to me: 1. Toe or fore-foot section is too lose in the upper part of the shoe, not snuggly fitted. After 12 miles you can literally feel the road. Not much cushioning in the forefoot area. But in the Heel, cushioning and impact is just fair. Probably I should have gotten a size 10 instead of a 12. But on my other running shoes I use a 12. 2. Laces are not the same as before. It tends to losen after 12 miles. I have to tie a double knot to secure this shoes. 3. During a marathon, When all sweaty and wet. The inner soles are not that dry, compared to the 1223 & 24. Ended up w/ a really soaked feet. 4. Running in them seems running on flip-flops, really loose even when really tied down. I't Stablity can't say if it works or not. 5. After aone marathon, I wouldn't run in this shoes again. Actually is stored at my garage for the rest of it's existence. Or if my wife decides a garage sale. I do hope the next generation of the 12 series is a more improved shoe. I'm a New Balance frequent user, expecting a much better stabilty shoe next time.

I had planned to wear my 1226's for a few weeks before submitting a review. However, after two runs totaling 12 miles, I can't believe how great they are! I feel like I am running in custom-made shoes! I normally use Super Feet orthotics, but I don't need them in the 1226's. I have done two speed workouts in the shoes, and every part of my lower body feels fantastic afterward! The cushioning is superb, and the support for my flat feet is ideal. After addressing the technical aspects of the shoes, I can also say that they aesthetically look great too! There is ample room in the toe box without feeling sloppy. The lacing system enables me to get a good fit in the heel. This is my favorite running shoe ever!
