I had to make a comment about this shoe. I purchased these shoes because I loved to 740. Looks like they took a couple of steps back when they made this shoe. I have a pronation problem and I am flat footed. I bought the 740's to help out with this problem and they were great and they lasted for almost a year. These shoes didn't last 2 months before the stitching started to fall apart and the shoe did not hold it's shape at all. I am hard on shoes because I work in retail. I bought the 740's at regular retail but the 770's were more expensive and lesser quality. If I pay more for a shoe I really expect more than 3 months use out of this shoe. I know this shoe is a clearance item now but I am writing this review to warn people about this shoe.

I had to return this one right from the box. This one replaced the 740, which I already have and have grown to like, but they've changed the instep. While I have a normal arch/neutral gate, and got by on the previous 740 stability shoe, this one I could not get by on. The shoe has been changed toward those with a low arch/flat foot. The arch is lower - in fact, there is now not much of an indentation in the foam on the outside of the arch, whereas the old 740 had quite the indentation. The back height of the heel has also been changed from the old 740, and is about an inch lower. It's all too bad, as the shoe appeared incredibly lightweight and very responsive, on par with the old 738's. Guess I'll have to be a little more careful when moving from a neutral arch/gate shoe toward the realm of a stability shoe. This one was U.S. made too.
