I've gotten shin splints on and off for ages, running only occasionally, and it got really persistent when I started hitting the gym regularly in the fall. Went to a proper shoe store to get fitted and, lo and behold, I over-pronate. My feet like a roomy shoe, so I tried these on and it was like nothing I'd ever worn before. I guess being properly fitted makes a difference!! Shin splints were gone from the first run in these shoes and they never came back. So happy with them!

I have a serious back injury and needed a shoe that was considered "high-impact" so that my back was supported. I also have a pronation problem. The gal at the NB store recommended this shoe and I LOVE IT! I am on my third pair! The shoe has a very thick sole, which takes some getting used to--you walk a bit "higher." Also, you don't feel things through the shoe as you would with typical sneakers, shoes. The technology of the shoe and the sole thickness absorb a lot of the inconsistencies of walking surfaces--you feel like you are walking on smooth surfaces most times. Because the shoe is designed to help with pronation, your food will sit differently in the shoe, DO NOT wear for extended times when you first buy them. I went to England and walked all over the place and my feet were killing me. Wear for a few hours at a time until your feet adjust. As I said, I am on my third pair and I love these shoes. PLEASE DO NOT STOP MAKING THEM!
